I am not looking to box much. Just looking for a cheap PC that will run 1 instance of EQ smoothly. Is there any cheap deals you recommend. I do realize that eq will run on a toaster but im not real good at looking over PC specs.

Newegg has refurbished desktops for around $200 that would run EQ most likely. Smoothly depends on what settings you want enabled and how many people are around you. I.E something cheap probably wont run smooth in a raid or GL

bigash that computer is about 10 years old.

Now, that is not really a problem for a single instance of EQ as it does come with 4GB or ram and the 2GHz Core2Duo should not choke on a single EQ instance.
EQ is really light on CPU requirements, but does need about 1GB of RAM per single instance.

The big problem is going to be the GPU as it looks likely as it does not have any dedicated but only the integrated Intel from 10 years ago and that is quite shitty. It could run EQ really slowly but it would suffer greatly in a raid.

What I recommend is getting a cheap Intel Ivy-Bridge i5 3470 (or better) quad core corporate desktop from HP,Dell or Lenovo for ~150 and then possibly adding a dedicated graphics card for around $50.

If you do not want to bother with adding a dedicated graphics card then stick with Haswell i5s 4570 and up as those have pretty decent integrated graphics for EQ at least.

Found a couple deals:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lenovo-ThinkCentre-M10AS-i5-4570S-2-90GHz-4GB-500GB-Windows-10-/162559196112 Cheap! I personally do not like Lenovo for ethical reasons but they are about same as HP and Dell
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-ProOne-4...M-500GB-HDD-All-in-One-WiFi-SP2-/232372067298 nice but no graphics upgrade possible
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-EliteDes...-4570-3-2Ghz-4GB-500GB-1K157092-/162520646613 love this one, easy to upgrade
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-Optipl...4590-3-3Ghz-8GB-500GB-HDD-DVDRW-/232316734025 dont have much experience with Optiplexes but should be similarly easy to upgrade as HP Elitedesk

If you only want to run 2-4 instances tops then you can stick with Haswell i3 such as this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-ELITEDES...3-40GHz-8GB-RAM-160GB-HDD-T6-F4-/122547809437 again this only has integrated graphics but for a single EQ this will be quite nice.

Found one more Haswell Elitedesk: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-EliteDes...Hz-4GB-RAM-500GB-HDD-Windows-10-/201954513159 graphics can be upgraded in this one

So again about graphics:
You should be fine for EQ with integrated HD4600 in Haswell era Intels: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Intel+HD+4600

If you want to add a dedicated card then shoot for 1000+ score in videocardbenchmark, something like 750Ti would be perfect but they are still pricey.

You can run 1 instance on a 4gb very smoothly. I have a computer thats 4gb, standard graphics card, and it can run up to 8 (thats with lag and low graphics) but it will run 1 just fine.

You can probably run 1 on a 2gb computer with a base harddrive of like 50gb. I would suggest looking at craigslist as many colleges and schools offload their computers per pallet and people will buy the pallet and sell the computers (which are 4gb usually) for 30-40$ a piece without a monitor/keyboard/mouse.

Agreed, Kyle, if you are looking to run a bunch of 1 instance computers(for TLP I assume) then 2GB on Win7 will be fine. Pretty much any desktop CPU from last 12 years will suffice.

Still you would need to add a $50 desktop graphics card to smooth things out. Something like http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tarjeta-Grafica-nVidia-GIGABYTE-GT730-2GB-DDR3-vga-GV-N730-2GI-/272600813991

Actually kind of hard to find a decent but inexpensive graphics card right now. I suppose people are altcoin mining even with cheapo cards *shrug*
