I really like the luck stat, yes I know there are many that believe it does nothing but I feel my forage and plat drop from mobs is higher with it maxed.

On one of my alts, I am topping some of my slots with Tower gear and I noticed that my luck stat went down after I trade out with the old stuff. For example my Unparalleled Necklace of Distant Echoes from the Tower only shows 33% luck. But my Sentient Subterranean Stalk I had in there had 50%. This is with no augs on either one.

Now, reading up on luck you usually increase it by merging 2 of the same items.

So I thought to myself it would not be hard to just fuse 2 of the same items from the Tower merchant. But before I go down there I start looking at my other items cause you can't merge items with augs in them for the luck stat iirc.

And my Unparalleled Brilliant Ring of Distant Echoes has a luck stat of 100%??????

I had been wearing it longer than the other items but other than that I know of no reason the luck should be so high on it.

Anyone have any ideas how I can retain my high luck numbers?

The 100% luck means that item is capped for the expansion, ie NoS cap is stat of 25, LS is 30 point.
I've had to fuse 3 adroitness ear rings to reach cap of LS 30 stat (100%). Under Stats tab i have 330 Luck.

So yes with your Tower necklace if you rly luck up and get another one that has 66%+ on it..you'll fuse them both to max cap.
Remember you do have to remove your augs 1st to fuse them.

If you have plenty of tower coins you could just purchase over and over until you obtained one with 100% Luck.

When you buy from the merchant it randomly rolls the luck stat. Range seems to be 0%, 33%, 66% and 100%.
The range is a little misleading. In the case of your necklace it has luck values of: 27 (0%), 28 (33%), 29 (66%) and 30 (100%).

I personally just bought the item I wanted and checked luck.
If 100% Luck then done, else buy another and see if I have either 100% or 66%. If 66% then fuse, else buy another. I don't think I ever had to fuse more than 2 times.

Using only Superlative tower gears gets you to 150 Luck. Using Unparalleled should get you to 300 Luck.

So my adventures in upping the luck.

Removed augs from shawl that was at 33%.

Bought another of the same shawl and that one was 100% so traded it out and turned the 33% one in for tribute. Confirmed that when on the merchant the items show ???? on the luck stat and not the actual luck amount. Confirmed it is totally random as to what % luck you get on an item.

Overall luck is now at 294

Mask was at 33%. Bought another and it also was at 33%. Removed augs. Did a fuse. Now up to 67% on item and 295 overall.

Thank you both for info on this. I did not test any Superlative items because they are level 115 and character is 125.
