How could you play another game without MQ???!?

Pantheon looks ehhh, I enjoy being able to log in, boot up a full group then kill any content and log off or take a break...

Ever since WoW brought in the sweats, I don't think MMOs will be the same as before and I think Pantheon will fall into this as well.

"...deeply social..." I'll pass. I don't need another game where I can't do anything. Where I log in look for a group for several hours and log off. If I want to do that I can play EQ without macroquest.

I was very excited for this game and had been following it but after 5 years of waiting I started to lose interest. It's been 5 years since then and honestly I thought the project was just never going to go anywhere.

It would be nice to relive the challenges of what EverQuest once was but their development is just ungodly slow.

I read that they have created a new net code that supposedly will put all other net codes to shame but that was 3 or 4 years ago and haven't heard anything about it since then.

I'll pass. It took so long to develop this game that aside from being put into a release coma, it is now already dated. Maybe there is something deeply engaging that will draw in it's player base? Who knows. All I know is that I have been following it, and it just seems to be too little too late. With every streaming presentation sort of like "Hey look at this thing we have to show you..over and over and over....".

I feel like this will be a playable game at about the same time that Patrick Rothfuss completes book 3 of his trilogy. Which is never. I think they started both at the same time…

Or George R. R. Martin next Game of Thrones book LOL. I think he got mad when everyone hated on the show ending that now he's redoing his book from the beginning LOL.

I've been playing Pantheon for about 3 weeks now. It's pretty fun. For the $50 pledge You actually get 2 accounts for it. My Kid got picked to be in the original Alpha. Tradeskills will be a little tough though. Starting the EA each toon can only specialize in one tradeskill profession.

pantheon is pretty fun for what it is. they've definitely jerked around for way too long with it without solid direction since they lost brad. they are nice enough but they seem like a bunch of adhd'ers running in random directions. thats just surface impressions of the staff.

the game itself is fun. the climbing and gliding remind me of zelda botw. the difficulty is pretty fair. it reminds me of any mmo that would have came out around the time eq came out. it doesn't feel like a wow clone or an eq clone or any kind of clone. you really had to play diff mmos in that era to know what i'm referring to. every mmo felt different back then and a lot of them had designed their own game engines in house so the movement/skills/jumping/falling all felt unique in every game

if you are going into the experience with preconceived notions and grand expectations you'll likely be let down, but if you go in to explore, play, make friends and have a good time you will. when i played there were extraordinarily few boxers, maybe 1 or 2 and they were only boxing 1 other toon. there will likely be more when it launches, but it didn't have a /follow so im not sure how boxing will go if they never add it

Its a 2002 EQ clone with slightly better than that era graphics (but garbage compared to even phone games from the last 10+ years). Grindy (not as much as OG EQ, more than current EQ), highly encourages groups and must be tank/healer/CC. Quest can get you little bumps of XP, and some required unlocks, but they want you to do old school EQ grinding/dungeon crawls. I have a 17? cleric, if you want old school EQ its great (WOW that item has 1 more AC!!! or sweet, 2 wis item!)

I was very excited about Pantheon when I heard about it ages ago. I doubt I will play it, the game has been in development for too long. It has "changed directions" too many times for me to consider it a true spiritual successor to OG Everquest.

I read up on the all the classes, I can tell it might have great graphics and cool zones. But the idea behind each class is not up to par with us EQ player have in mind.
