Question - KA ini file question

This is probably a newbie question but I notice there are several different sections (DPS, Heals, Buffs, etc.) and some ini files have 15 or more inputted spells/abilities for some of those sections. If you're only able to have 13 spell slots why are there way more than that lists? I'm trying to consume KA and the whole ini thing and it's like drinking from a fire hose. Thanks and apologies for my ignorance.

Several reasons
Not just spells go there, also Combat abilities and AAs goes into the DPS and Buffs sections
For Buffs there is a special buff-slot
[Spells] MiscGem=8 <---- this gem will be used for buffs, so that other slots not will be touched. For nuke-spells and spells you use frequently

Robban is right. For example, in a Bard .ini file you are unlikely to see spells at all, because they "twist" their songs. But in my bard .ini file I've got a list of 23 separate actions (mainly AA abilities and /discs).

I remember when I first started figuring out how to read an .Ini file or the various elements that go into one. It's a lot. I suggest you start with one class and start figuring it out (asking questions). In some cases, their will be alternatives to KissAssist for certain classes (warriors, clerics, enchanters, etc.) that may be right for you and are perhaps easier to set up if not as customizable.

This page, KissAssist setting and commands, is basically where I lived for my first few months of using KA.

If you can find it, it's a little easier to learn on ini files that have no or low conditions usage. That is the "cond1" or [KConditions] section which can look very code like. Conditions really bring a ton of useful intelligence to your ini and opened up a lot of abilities that KA couldn't really use before, but they can be a little overwhelming if you're not used to reading/translating them to english. Long term, you definatlely want to use conditions in your ini but don't need them to start out.

So is there something better for Clerics than KA? If so where can I reference that and get started with that. In the process of setting up my group on at a time and I want to try and get the main pieces going. I will be maining my SK, looking for a great ini or something else for my Cleric and Bard. Thanks.

I think most if not all of the classes have other macros besides KA which auto run the characters and don't need much setting up, good option if you want to just get busy with playing instead of tweaking inis. Also there is an EQmule version of KA which is included in the same folder as KA ini, it was really great for healing at one point and probably still is. But personally I use KA for everything and it is amazing. It takes some setting up, mostly the conditions take a long time to figure out how they work and how to type them, but once you learn it you can do almost anything. My characters act better than real people.
