Hi guys,

I just resubbed here after being away from EQ for a couple years now. I'm really pumped to try the new MQ with all the Lua stuff. I anticipate a bit of a learning curve on my end, but I enjoy that!

Any big changes to things or the way we should operate? I generally don't afk or act suspicious, I like to use this more for QoL and such..

Anyway just wanted to say Hello and looking forward to seeing everyone in-game and in-forum here!

Cheers

Welcome Back!!!!

I cannot really say what may have changed as I was away for 15 years, and only know current stuff, but as with anything, there is a risk. Do your best to minimize contact with others, and you should be generally ok.

The forums and discord are great places to ask questions, and we are always here to help. Good luck!

Welcome back to us!

A very helpful community - reacquaint yourself with the getting started videos linked above. One of the best resources for me so far has been Sic's hotkeys; Sic's Hotkeys. Also has a good video at the top of the page demonstrating toon movement. Have fun!

There are a couple of small, yet important changes with MacroQuest:
1. mq2map click is Control+Shift+Click
2. new easyfind self travel is Control+Click (reminder in find window title bar)
3. new easyfind group travel is Control+Shift+Click
4. If you selected a destination in your zone guide and want to activate it you /travelto activate
5. /yes and /no are now aliases
6. your ini configuation files (like for kissassist) now reside in your "Config" folder and not your "Macro" folder

I had taken a long break, came back and EQ alone had a lot of changes, the walk throughs are nice, not everything is answered, but it's enough to be dangerous LOL... that said, I definitely found that learning and refining the INI taught me the most; experiment here, ask a question here, apply it there, seemed to teach me the most about it... I really enjoyed the older INI websites that walked me through (though I believe some are out of date or whatnot... they still were a really great place to learn a basic knowledge)

KISSASSIST

Still one of my favorites for learning and quick reference, if there's better, I am unaware... another one I liked for / macro commands was

MQ2MOVEUTILS

Just a couple nuggets that help me sort it out... and then again, asking questions of the community here @ RG has been HUGE!

Good Luck and Welcome Back!

Just my two red:rcents.
