Throughout these past few days of servers crashing and the emergency downtimes, we can’t thank all of you enough for your patience as we tirelessly worked to resolve the problems.

Full transparency: What was happening was extremely technical and difficult to pin down. In the end, we discovered that subscriptions that had lapsed for players who were online and in game was the root cause. Since the emergency maintenance on Saturday, the issue appears to be resolved.

That means they forked themselves by taking out the "time remaining" on the character screen. So a lot of accounts got stuck in between paid and not paid and caused server issues.

Whatever the fix to that might be - maybe it puts an end to "as long as you stay logged in you don't need to renew your subscription"?

What also came to mind: What happens to your offline trader when your sub expires? Do they stay active? (Really never got to find out.)

My offline trader has always disconnected in the past. I can't speak for how it would act in light of recent issues, but it always disconnected them when the sub ran out.

For a long while it didn’t used to disconnect you if you were in game and your krono ran out. They changed that so when it lapses you get sent to server select awhile ago.
