Hello folks ,

After a little help with Boxing 5 toons i seem to get a progressive lag issues where the first account i log in runs fine but by the 5th toon is unuseable.

I have an i7 960 processor running at 3.2ghz
8192MB ram
DX 12
AMD radeon HD 6900 Series Approx Memory 5872MB

its not on a SSD drive tho i dont know if this could be the problem but for 5 account i doubt it

each copy of the game begins to use 9% to 14% of the Cpu on each copy and around 700mb of memory when attempting to use character via kissassist eoknuke etc.

Many thanks in Advance !

This only seems to happen when looking at Other PCs or NPCs

Have you edited you eqclent.ini?

Do you use Isboxer?

Turn off sound, music
Sky affects alot, turn it off
Update frequency to 1 minute
Have you disable Coreparking on your processor?

The reason I ask about Isboxer, is it allows for virtualized ini files, so you could have you main toon to have all pretty graphics and the rest with stickfigures. It also sets up the way your processor distributes the load otherwise you will have to set that in your ini file

I just did a quick search for eqclient.ini here for those, there are quite a few to browse through.

GL!

Because there is so much crap turned on, you really need to read some of those threads. Re-installing puts everything at default. That is not the solution.

Back up Dori, and listen to what Nyghteyes is saying, and do that. So far you havent been listening.

how do i check for coreparking i'm a plumber :( not a computer wiz i do try to follow to the advice the help guys sorry 'im just retarded and proper fucked over the eqclient folders

I need to do some of this myself. I'm running at about 800-900mb per client. It really adds up with 12 accounts running.

Coreparking is in isboxer I believe- when you're setting up the character set wizard- one of the last pages is CPU usage- there is a drop down box that chooses what cores each slot/character uses. If you set that to no selection, that would turn off coreparking.

I think i have mine set to Round-robin 2/2/2/2/2/2/2/2/2/2/2/2, I'll have to play with this a little and see what happens.

I know others have used this utility in the past to disable coreparking with your CPU. Right now your CPU probably is probably trying to conserve power.

You system is probably fighting over the configuration differences, if you dont want to use wineq or isboxxer to manage your game settings I suggest copying your EQ folder and configuring one for your boxes and 1 for your main to keep the configs separate.

There are many ways to skin this cat but IMO Isboxxer is the easiest way to manage multiple profiles / toons even if you dont use it for any of its many other features. There is a very nice community there to help you learn to set it up and Lax (Owner) is an amazing dude.

You don't need to be a computer wiz to follow the step by steps in the threads linked, but you do need to take them 1 at a time or you will feel overwhelmed with all the possible changes you can make not know what does what.

Frimp, is talking about the core usage of the processors. Isboxxer manages this for you otherwise it needs to be set in the eqclient.ini file. Most likely all of the clients are trying to share 1 core of your multi core CPU.

I average 600-700mb per client but run a beefy enough system for 12 client at that setup, If I run 18 I turn all my boxes except my main group into stickfigures, turn luclin models off.

eqclient.ini, first line would read
stickfigures=1

Turn shadows off, they are horribly coded in EQ

Theres just so many thing that can be changed and adjusted that this thread could go on forever, thats why I linked ones that have had this discussed already
