So I'm getting a bit bored of Phinigel and because of this I'm ready to get my live server crew up and running again. However, I've decided to replace my Monk (previous main) with a new Rogue or Zerker since I've never played one of the "pure" melee DPS classes and I'm beyond bored of Monk after all these years playing it.

The rest of my group is: SK/Shm/Brd/Clr/Wiz

I'm not so worried about their relative AFK botting performance because I find tuning that to be very enjoyable - I even had my monk doing very respectable DPS!

My biggest concerns are with their overall performance when played to peak and any special case utility. Thanks for any input you guys may have!
 
They are a lot of fun, but it is extremely annoying to have to remember to bux axe components. If only they had an AA like Endless Quiver that gave you unlimited axe components. (Even with the 70% reagent reduction AA, I can still burn 25kpp per day in axes).

pure damage output with a 105 bard is I N S A N E with a zerker!

Hey Raz, what songs makes the Zerker that much higher? I run one with my group sometimes, and he matches or beats the wizards most of the time (as long as it's not a long fight and he runs out of end). Since I have more wizards, I never looked at the other songs that might benefit him more.

I'm not sure if 105 songs have changed, but for 100 songs - War March of Illdaera, Aria of Va'Ker, Kaficus' Spiteful Lyric, Arcane Hymn - I think these are the main ones that add damage for melee. Of course you also have the constant 25% overhaste from aura, quick time, fierce eye, epic click, etc.

Afaik zerkers also reach 90%+ crit chance during burns, so having a shaman 2.0 is probably a very big DPS increase as well.

You need a bard in the group to support sustainable zerker dps. It comes down to Rallying Call AA to regen the zerkers endurance.

The bard aura
Aura of Maetanrus
Over haste 25% for 225% haste

I have fixed bard casting and added features to kiss in Kss 9.1.2 (not released yet) specifically to support this and bard Dichotomic pslam for Mana regen.

My zeker is lasting 6 to 7 times longer before she needs to med due the bard on constant pulls. zerker used to med about every 15 mobs now its like every 90.

My zerker is 105 TDS Group Geared Max AAs with a Chase Weapon
This set up doesn't use mq2melee and you will go through a lot of axes so make you have plenty of axe parts to summon them.
Dichotomic Rage is the BIG end killer so yours shouldn't be so bad on end at 100.

Some of the Dicho spells are meh, but the bard and Zerker one are amazing. I've seen 1.6m crits on a crappy geared COTF t2/TDS t1 zerker.

So do you weave rallying call in between Breather? I havent been able to macro it to that point. 90% of the time rallying call hits with breather active, so it's capped at 25% end. Playing manually, it's pretty easy to throw RC on in between, but it's also a bit hard determining when breather drops. Or do you abandon breather altogether, and just rallying call every 5 min?
 
Rallying call is just cast on the lowest endurance group member at the time using the NEW Feature |Endgroup

The main thing is rallying call is canceled if the toon attacks. So kiss will not attack while under its influence.

The zerker cast breather when ever you tell them too with the normal |end tag in buffs

Chances of the bard using rallying call at the exact moment the zerker is using breather is rare.
 
Well zerker is 100 + 7.5k AAs now. Full TDS T1 gear and weapon, 16 dmg 2h aug. I modified Maskoi's KA INI to work at 100 (just swapped to 96-100 discs instead of 101-105 discs).

So far, he's doing about the same DPS as a caster merc and generally competing with my bard for DPS. Highest I've seen him burn on a named is 50k.

My SK right now is averaging 40-50k DPS on trash and 100k+ DPS burning on named, using COTF T2 + TDS T1 2her (was max AAs at 100). His DPS is considerably lower with 1h/shield. Hopefully the zerker catches up with some AAs!

Jeeeez the difference between 100 and 101 is big. Dicho for Zerker is really strong to say the least.

Mine uses no holy shits. i transferred everything to Kiss. Mq2melee is off completely but Kiss yet can't get as complex in combos.

Yeah it works pretty well for kiss-only, nice and quick to setup. The conditions in shits really help with stacking buffs that synergize, so I have always tended to use them to trigger and maintain burns.

My zerker's average DPS has almost doubled since he got Dicho activated. Seems like they kinda balanced the class around it.

Just to follow up on this, the zerker is now 105 with about 8k AAs and is already topping DPS for my team (even over the wizard) at the current camp.

This is a parse of 766 mobs over a 6 hour period, all characters below are in TDS T1 gear/weapons:

Thanks for the advice guys, really enjoying this class! I pulled my monk out of mothballs for an hour or so last night to make a comparison and he does about half the average DPS.

Here are my updated 105 inis... but just a fair warning, I can't seem to get Dicho to fire using MQ2melee and Kiss won't fire it while a disc is running, so there is some wasted damage here until I figure out a solution.

Holyshit23 is the Dicho one that doesn't fire, and 24-28 are there just to fire abilities while a disc is running.

Did you just load and try my ini that doesn't use mq2melee. If you are having problems i am sure it is trying to use 30 holyshits.

Yeah I did start with your INI and no shits, I'll try trimming it down and firing more stuff through KISS and see if that helps.

Final followup to this thread - Zerker is now 105, max AAs, using TDS chase 2her. He's sustaining about 20% more DPS than my Wizard and under a full burn can blast most of a current expansion named HP in a single attack (Dicho). This has been really useful with some of the nastier named mobs.

At some point once I'm satisfied with my shits and kiss ini, I'll post it up in the KA section for others to use. Thanks again for the advice guys!
 
I gotta stop reading about berserker DPS. I am in serious danger of re-starting account number 15. I think my laptop can even handle 15 accounts fine if I dial down the graphics a little, but I don't like FTP, so that'll be more $$ I spend regularly on this game.

Lol I'm trying so hard to keep it to 6 accounts... but here I am with a 7th account logged in leveling up a Beastlord, and I'm very tempted to finish up a Mage and Druid that are sitting at level 86 or so. It will never end I'm afraid...
 
I'm loving SK DPS with a 2her now. I can't get my wizzy or zerker to beat it over a long parse even with assist at 100% (raz's afnuke2 on wiz). He also burns around 150k DPS. Still using a TBM group 2her until I can get a Percutio - DPS should go up again by a fair amount at that point.

This is about ~ 2 hours of grinding.

So with these bard changes (Dicho now costs ~8k endurance per cast, returns 6% of the mana that it used to) I'm fairly certain that my Wizard will be requiring med time again. I'm tempted to replace the Wizard with a Beastlord. BST paragon stuff, Dicho, and ATK buffs should bring a lot to my group.

The only problem doing this is no ports! Guess I could invest in gate pots and keep the Wiz on a separate account so I can still use it for transport.
 
With the dicho nerfs I have to think zerkers will have their nerf in the next few weeks, too. The bard nerf was so severe (especially for a class that has no endurance regen abilities) that I'm worried this is signaling more severe changes.

It does bother me that 30%+ of my zerker's DPS is from the Dicho hits alone. When grinding he just 1-shots a mob every minute essentially. I could see them nerfing it, but they'll have to increase sustained DPS or I'll be swapping him out for a Monk again.

Well, considering they aren't adjusting anything with bards to compensate for the 94% nerf (went from great to 94% worthless), I wouldn't hold my breath for them to adjust other sustained dps abilities, especially with a new expansion coming out in a couple of months.

Well to be fair, the bard Dicho nerf has no impact on my Zerker. It really only impacts my SK and Wizard who can both burn through a lot of mana.

It's possible they'll make changes to other Dicho abilities. We know that if they do, they'll nerf it into absolute uselessness like they did to the Bard version. It's really too bad.

We really have no evidence that there will be a nerf to Berkserker's Dicho, that's just some speculation right now. However if they were to nerf it into obscurity, wizard will take the lead - based on my own parsing anyway.

I do love seeing my SK crippling blow normal melee autoattacks for 120k while under visage of death and Zerker's Dicho. Really hoping they don't nerf it lol.

If they do nerf berserker DPS, no doubt wizard will have their day on the chopping block (again) too and once the dust settles, berserkers will still be out DPSing all the other classes.

Haha in that fight I'm pretty sure the bard was mezzing/remezzing adds. The bard will do 20-25k DPS all day when I turn off his mezzing and just face tank my pulls, even 50k+ on some burns!
